Zombie Bazaar Belly Dance is a Tribal Fusion group under the direction of Giomara Bazaldua, a longtime student of dance. "Gio" has a cutting edge style that fuses tribal belly dance with other genres from Ballet Folklorico to Jazz and Modern. It is this fusing of talent, creativity and homenaje a su cultura Xicana that led to the creation a duo called Zombie Bazaar in 2009 and eventually a troupe 11 womyn strong. These mujeres use eclectic and campy music to compliment their high energy and creepy theatrics. Each of the 11 bring their own espiritu y alma to the group which is evident in their dance style.

Always willing to volunteer for community causes, Zombie Bazaar’s activism most recently found them performing at Public Views not Private Brews, an action against the privatization of the historic Hay's Street Bridge in East San Antonio. In addition to luchando por la causa through movement, Zombie Bazaar have also become an important part of San Anto nightlife and art scene through their production, Danza Revolucion, a quarterly show which provides local artists the opportunity to perform in music venues. This gives the city and the dance community exposure to one another as well as providing an outlet for up and coming artistas.

This group of amigas, artistas, visionaries, singers, vegans,activist, sculptors, writers, lovers, and fighters call themselves Zombies to get your attention and once they have it they will keep you spellbound with their captivating dances and powerful message of strength and unity.
